Although I probably would not use often if I had, it looks to be quite an interesting product and I would love to see how it works under the hood. Don't think they'll gimme the source do ya?

I see the Java and web server requirements as a big downside. Last thing I need is more stuff to patch and monitor for security holes. It does look interesting.

Yeah the new web server had to my main gripe as well. Part of that though is because I'm a MS bigot. . I always forget (and don't care) about the other platforms.

Brian,
this is generally a good review but I question the characterization of the product as a "steal". The price posted on Lumigent's website is "starting at $10,000" with a 35% annual support fee to get free upgrades. Support contract is mandatory for 1st year
Is this per server too? I don't know as such info. doesn't seem well publisized on web site.
Product value is not generally measured against cost of in house development. If that were the case we'd be paying $20,000 for Microsoft Excel!
LockwoodTech has released a competative product to Lumigent's tools - LockwoodTech Log Navigator that also uses the Transaction log to passively audit changes http://www.lockwoodtech.com/index_lognavigator.htm . Currently it audits data only but auditing for DDL changes and Selects will be added soon.
Let's hope the competition will lower these outrageous product prices and benefit the sql community.
