  Hello,

  I am looking for a product that reports versions, editions and product names of SQL Server installs and instances in my network. Is there something out there on the market? Any free tools out there or very inexpensive?

  Do you know what servers the instances are installed on? If so you could write a powershell shell script to get this info. (example Powershell script[/url])

  If you don't know where SQL is installed then possibly the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit might work for you (note: I have never used this tool)
