You could also give sswug.org a try, if you want to pay for membership. They seem to try and cover everything, not just MS SQL Server. They have forums and articles for Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, etc.

I agree, a site like SSC for Oracle would be a worthwhile endeavour for the people with the right experience and desire. Could be called OracleCentral.

I'm think of launching one. Key criteria will be.

(1) It will not be obvious how to use the site and you will need to employ a consultant to help you do so.

(2) The consultant will cost at least £1,500 per day. (S)he will launch the site fot you every day, but will never show you how to do it youself.

(3) You will need to use an installation routine to load the site and it will comprise at least a 10MB installation set even for the most basic ODBC site driver.

(4) If anybody mentions SQL Server or SSC the site will crash.

5) Access to the site will require a custom-built browser that is arcane, follows no known standards, and is difficult to install, requiring tweaking of hidden system files to configure and operate properly.

Pardon?? I was pointing out that a particular post was simply an echo of one previously posted. Why repeat what has already been provided, especially since there was absolutely no new information provided by such a post?

Had you provided something new or informative, perhaps you wouldn't have received such a reply?

There was the forums by Revealnet in Chicago but Quest bought it and shut the site and just send useless emails with their list. So here is the only one I know and I have not used it for a while because in Oracle I do just development.

I had a 7 day trial period there... if their Oracle forum answers and articles are as bad as the SQL Server forum answers and articles I saw, they should pay you for being a member.
