Oh, I have; I was just making small talk.

As usual on Christmas, I plan to do several things but then I end up completing 50% (if I'm lucky). Anyway, to-do list for this year:
- completing the website in asp.net and C# for my wife (high priority, otherwise she will kill me!)
- reading a couple of books, there's a heap (just to be SQL-minded) but in this moment I need something philosophical
- some old movies
- putting on some weight (this is unplanned, but it always happens!).

Geeze there is a lot I want to do but realistically:
Rogue one
get my new turntable set up properly and listen to a few records
likely some video games (play but not finish any):
bravely second
elliot quest (MIGHT finish this one. Finished the beta version, but not the final release yet).
star ocean
transformers
likely some others I'm not thinking of
free up some space on my TV. Likely do this by finding a way to trick it into thinking that a USB device is an SD card and then using the move to SD feature
sleep
start and finish a few books I own (both SQL and non-SQL)
The above is all just my opinion on what you should do.
As with all advice you find on a random internet forum - you shouldn't blindly follow it. Always test on a test server to see if there is negative side effects before making changes to live!
I recommend you NEVER run "random code" you found online on any system you care about UNLESS you understand and can verify the code OR you don't care if the code trashes your system.

I bought my grand daughter an arduino-based robot kit. I suspect that will take up some of my time;-)
Otherwise I will be spending time on the continuous refinement of my old Jeeps.

Got a few photo negatives from 30s and 40s to scan. Plan to do that, oh and read.As of now two books - Kimball's data warehousing and the annotated Hans Christian Anderson.

I'm using two vacation days next week to Munzee - QR code based, world wide geocaching type game. I need to meet the monthly Clan requirements to earn free stuff : )

I'm currently reading The Altreian Enigma (Rho Agenda Assimilation Book 2)
Tomorrow is the annual Solstice Party. All day board gaming with breaks for cheese fondu for dinner and later chocolate fondu for dessert. The only game definitely on the agenda is Terraforming Mars. I'll sleep over and we'll do more board gaming on Sunday with a smaller crowd.
New Year's Eve is all day board gaming at my local board game shop. (Do you notice a theme here?)
New Year's Day is avoiding the Mummer's Parade insanity, which--given that I live two blocks away--will not be easy, and then heading to a square dance New Year's Day party.

PS: I was surprised by how many of the science fiction movies I had already seen.

I forgot to add that I am SO glad that I no longer work in fund-raising. With people trying to get in last minute gifts, this was always one of the busiest times of the year for us.

Ditto on the Lego building with the kids as someone else mentioned. We probably have way too much, as I have all the Legos from when I was a kid, plus the sets that my kids have. I probably won't get to any movies, but I do usually try to get to a long running sci-fi marathon in January every year at a local college. I think they've shown all the good and bad ones from that Ars Technica list at least once.

Rogue One (already booked to go to a fundraising showing and then my team decided it would be the team outing, hope it's good enough to watch twice in one week!)
Building some of the Lego we've stockpiled during the year (no kids, don't need any excuses, will be unashamedly pandering to our inner kids!)
Reading more of Colleen McCullough's "Masters of Rome" series. It's a fascinating look at a society descending into chaos. Trying not to think how contemporary the themes are :crying:)
And, as it's summer here in the Southern Hemisphere, gardening and chilling out outside
Happy Christmas and stay safe everyone!

Ok... I have no life or maybe I just play a different set of relaxing games. 😀
I look forward to having some "down time" so that I can finally get to putting the finishing touches on several articles for SSC and writing some others. SQL isn't just a job for me... it's a fun, puzzle solving hobby. I may also try to build a small prototype of a new kind of PV solar panel I've designed (full size version is 4x8 feet, 162 PV cells with ability to replace the bad ones, more than 400 Watts per panel, and has a unique cooling feature to improve conversion performance, all of which may be patentable). If I have any time left over after that, I'd like to get back to experimenting with AlC battery and electrolyte design. I'm also experimenting with incorporating Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) into emails and result sets generated by SQL Server because the colors and controls for geo-graphics suck and I have no love at all for SSRS.
Just to reiterate, I have no life. 😀

Actually this is a busy time for us as we prep for the new year data changes. But I did have time to sneak in Rogue One.

I'm also a musician. This is one of the busiest times of the year for us. The weekend just gone was my first free weekend since October, so I (finally) got round to some stuff in the kitchen. This year's Christmas pudding & cake are now made... The weekend before, we had six gigs between the three of us, so when you factor in rehearsal time, there's not a lot of free time at the moment!
I really ought to do some Christmas shopping...

For me, I'm not really taking any time off between now and NYE. As far as the days I do have off, well...
Rogue 1 (have now saw it twice)
Probably some reading (mostly re-reading my older SF, I just started Moonseed)
Friday I've got off, so I'll probably turn on The Science Channel marathon of Mythbuster's for a while
Last night I started up a new campaign in X-Com 2, Veteran difficulty and Ironman mode (only 1 save allowed, so no going back to replay a mission you botch)
Probably also play some DeusEx
Maybe break out my tabletop game and teach the wife to play Ogre
Saturday night the family is coming over for XMas dinner, so that'll probably tie up most of Saturday (plus going to get the MiL at some point)
NYE we're going out to a party, the rest of that weekend will probably be more of the same as this weekend.
Definitely going to make time to go see Passengers, too.

So you should certainly know how to spell it by now! :hehe:
