    Incidentally, I removed that reference since it wasn't (as you've pointed out) positively impacting the content or purpose of the article.

  • It was an interesting point though, but if you don't record why a specific alternative wasn't assessed somebody looking at the article will wonder why it didn't include it. Not working with a particular version is a useful point to make as it explains the omission. Likewise, if a company is unprofessional enough that they attempt to restrict users reporting on their product then this is a very valid reason for a potential user to avoid them, regardless of performance, because they evidently have a very poor customer experience.
