The mosting damning thing in this brief analysis is the note about the Progress JDBC being delivered by *******'s (aka:idiots). The only "sensible" conclusion that can be had from their EULA restriction is that performace is somewhat worse than the others and they don't want any sales.

Incidentally, I removed that reference since it wasn't (as you've pointed out) positively impacting the content or purpose of the article.

It was an interesting point though, but if you don't record why a specific alternative wasn't assessed somebody looking at the article will wonder why it didn't include it. Not working with a particular version is a useful point to make as it explains the omission. Likewise, if a company is unprofessional enough that they attempt to restrict users reporting on their product then this is a very valid reason for a potential user to avoid them, regardless of performance, because they evidently have a very poor customer experience.
