I recently took the 70-450 exam and failed, gaining a score only of 680 and am sudying to take it again in the next few weeks.
Im going through technet articles (and SQLRNNR's excellent study guide) to study the recommended areas for the 70-450 database admin exam, and im getting a bit overwhelmed. There are 30-40 topics, and depending on the topic, you can go very deep into them.
e.g. merge replication. do i need to know the intricate details of how it performs conflict resolution, writing my own conflict resolvers etc, or are questions generally at a higher level, e.g " you have to design a system with these requirements, should you chose merge replication, tran repl" ?
If i go down to the deep level on each topic, i will be studying for 6 months and theres no way i will remember all of that information.
from folk who have passed this exam or are sql certified masters, how deep does the 70-450 exam go?

Not very deep. Know the concepts, where you'll use them, what would make you chose feature X over Y (and what would make one or the other not applicable).
p.s. I don't know how merge replication handles conflicts and I certainly couldn't write my own conflict resolve. I got 800+ on 450 (can't remember exact score and don't feel like hunting results down)

As Gail said, the exam is to test your understanding of what to use and not the intricate details. Also, if you have been doing this kind of work for a while, you may not need to study too terribly much. Your experience with the product will help tremendously.

So you admit to cheating and violating the NDA?
Braindumps are not an appropriate study material.

This makes me very angry, some of us dedicate a month to study books and material to pass these exams, and feel proud when we pass because we earned it.
Should I and alyssajames37 apply for the same position at a company, our certifications are equal, but we are not.
Hope someone reported this?

Braindumps are cheating. They are actual questions taken from the exams in violation of the NDA that all exam takers must accept. Using or distributing braindumps can result in your certifications being revoked and even in you being blacklisted from ever writing certification exams again.

I have some doubts here on this topics.. Can someone please give some lights on this?
1. Why Microsoft dont take actions on those actual dumps providers when illegal?
2. These dumps contains around 100-150 questions and same questions gets repeated in the exam. So it gets easier for the people to go through these questions and get good score. So as per my opinion Microsoft should not repeat the questions from the same set which is really small. What do you think?

They do. Legal action.

They don't, the set is not as small as you may think and there are new questions being added all the time. That said, with hundreds of exams written a month, there's no way that they could not repeat questions, they certainly couldn't all be complete custom exams.

I just want to say i started this post asking for some advise on the best study strategy for this exam and did not want or expect brain dumps to come into the conversation. I dont use or condone the use of brain dumps.
Besides, If a legit study aid like trancender gets questions wrong ( ive identified a number of them that are wrong for this and other exams), then why would anyone expect that these dodgy brain dumps are accurate?
From looking back on the Certification forum here, there seems to be a few posts like that one promoting brain dumps, by users who just registered and only have 1 or two posts.
Is there some form of security that could be put in place, like any new users (users with less than 2 posts) have their posts screened for words like brain dump, exams etc, and of the posts identified, an admin could screen them once a day. Im sure there are a lot of new users, but there cant be that many posting in the certification on a daily basis.
