Hi All,
At the moment our SQL servers are 2008 R2 and we have a plan to upgrade to 2014 or 2016
Which one is the best ?
2014 or 2016 ? if we upgrade to 2014 it will be 3 years behind now but if we upgrade to 2016 ..we are afraid there will be many bugs or issues that have not been found out
Any feedback are much appreciated
Many thanks !

I would go directly to Sql Server 2016, it is IMHO by far the best ever and so far I haven't heard of any serious bugs.

Upgrade to SQL 2016, because Query Store
and some other nice features including the availability of some previously Enterprise-only features in Standard and Express with SP1.

So test your systems rigorously on 2016 to find if there are any potential issues for your systems, before actually committing to the upgrade. With software this complex there are always bugs and issues - its whether your system is affected by them that matters.

For server + cal licensing?
If licensing users, total number of people accessing the server (directly or via something like a web server)
Licensing devices is different, speak to your MS rep.
