We are looking at upgrading our SQL Server 2008 SP4 Standard Edition instances to SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise Edition. Has anyone experienced any issues doing such an upgrade? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Normally no problem with SQL Server, more trickier with other services such as SSIS and SSAS, haven't done this SSRS upgrade so I'm blank there. My preferred method is either a side by side installation + migration on a single server or parallel servers install + migration. Never had an issue there but some issues with the features when doing in-place upgrade.

Use Upgrade Advisor
SQL Server Upgrade Advisor helps you prepare for upgrades to SQL Server 2012. Upgrade Advisor analyzes installed components from earlier versions of SQL Server, and then generates a report that identifies issues to fix either before or after you upgrade.

Thanks for the feedback. Is it best practice to remove the older versions of SQL once we upgrade, or should we just leave them installed? Any feedback will be appreciated.
