i'm having issues installing the express r2 version. I've downloaded the free version from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22973
I also downloaded the following:
Step 1: Download and install Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1.
Step 2 Download and install Windows Installer 4.5.
.
Step 3 Download and install Windows PowerShell 1.0.
as I go thru the SQL Server 2008 Setup i'm getting hung up at the Server Configuration section. I'm selecting the "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" with the intent of using my NT login and password. Under the Database Engine Configuration i'm selecting the "Windows authentication mode" but getting an error
"Missing system administrator account. Please provide one window account to provision as a SQL Server system."
Any suggestions on how to complete this install.
Thanks

the solution was to click the "Add Current User" as a SQL Server Admin at the Database Engine Configuration screen.
