When installing a new instance of 2005, afterwards my user account is disabled apparently due to a service attempting to use it to login. I have used the local "Administrator" account to perform the installation as well, and the results are the same, my domain account is then disabled. I shut down the server to which I am installing and wait the minimum lockout period, and I can re-login with my domain account. When I reboot the server and attempt to login with my domain account it is again locked out.
Has anyone experienced this ? I am at a loss!

Are you sure none of the service accounts aren't trying to run as your user and have the wrong password?
I've occasionally had Management Studio lock me out if I change my password while it is running, but if it happens when your computer is starting up, sounds like you should look at your services. Make sure to check all of them you have auto-starting, (SQL Server, Agent, Reporting Services, Full Text, Integration Services, etc.)

thanks for the reply. I have all services mentioned running under 'local services' for startup. I did this to ensure that no other services were starting with my user account that I might have been unaware of .
Again, I installed the instance under the 'Administrator' account, to remove any association to my domain account. But to no avail.
If there are any other suggestions PLEASE share your comments!
