Hi Folks
I have a problem with Reporting Services installation and using Reporting Services Configuration.
Apparently the sysadmins when they set up the windows 2003 64-bit server decided to install MS Sql Server 2005 32-bit for some reason Not knowing that, I tried to install the Reporting Services feature for MS Sql Server 2005 but it was from a 64-bit image.
I would like to remove the MS Sql Server 2005 64-bit (it only shows Reporting Services) from Add or Remove Programs but I am afraid that it will try to remove SQL Server 2005 32-bit in the process.
Anyone have any ideas on what I should attempt ?
Thanks
jim

What you're suggesting shouldn't have any impact on the SQL Server installation. Regardless, I understand your hesitation. The safest way to proceed would be to image the drive before performing any operations on it. Failing that, you may need to be prepared to reinstall SQL Server should a problem arise. At the very least, make sure you're all backed up. If this is a production server, don't do anything until after hours.
You shouldn't run into any problems, but better safe than sorry, right?

Thanks jvanderberg
i really hate the way MS has written the installs and removals process
it scares the hell out of me
i will get with the sysadmin to see about snapping the drives before i do anything
even though it is a development machine it is still considered production and i can only get to it after hours
Jim
