Is there any way to avoid the memory restriction on this version?
I´m working with Windows 2000, SQL Server 7

I thought th restricton was 4GB.
If you enable AWE, you should be able to go to 4GB

It was called EMA (Emnterprise Memory Architecture) in SQL 7 and is available in Enterprise Edition only. Not sure if the /3GB switch in the boot.ini for Win2K will have any effect and the 4GB may work with that in place.

Steve, the restriction for SQL7 is 2 gb (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;274750).
Antares, the same article mention the /3Gb restriction on Windows 2000 Server (The version that i have)

Apologies, I forgot. Kept thinking 7 was the same as 2000 in this area.
suspect there may be a reg hack, but then you are in an unsupported and possible illegal situation.
Upgrade to 2K if you need the mem.
