Hello,
I have a question about server configuratioin.
What would you choose between servers
1x2.4GHz or 2x733MHz Xeon ?
They have same amount of memory but hard disks are IDE on 2.4GHz and SCSI on Xeon server.
Of course why would you decide for one or other server ?
Thanks,
Oliver
P.S. I am particulary interested in processors and not in HDs.

I think the only benefit of using 2 processors that I can think of at present would be that you would be able to use a processor for sql exclusively and one for the operating system (see sql server properties).
I don't really know if this would be more beneficial than having a much faster processor doing both. You'll get faster disk access vis SCSI as well but the benefits of this are shrinking fast as well.
Might be an idea to do some load testing on both.

Now I have this Xeon solution and it works ok.
With current application it is occupied in average between 20 and 35% with peaks to 50%.
I know that I will need to test a little before switch but if somebody has experience that will be great

There is a great article here http://www.sql-server-performance.com/sql_server_configuration_settings.asp whihc should get you going - the site it is on is a great source of info relaing to optimisation of many aspects of sql server
Good luck
