024 Fatal Error Hardware Error

    We got a strange msg from our server stating this error, first time for such an error.

    I've looked around on line to fin dmore about this error. How bad should one be worried with this?

    When we looked closer at this in the logs it turned out to be an access denied error. Is it possible that SQL server got it's hairs crossed?

    If you found something you can directly attribute it to like Access Denied then make sure you fix the access. Otherwise unless it happens again I would not worry too much. This happened to me once about 2 years ago for some reason I found non-physical-hardware and once I corrected the permissions or whatever locked the file (don't remember the root cause off hand) I have never had another report.
