While I was at the PASS Summit last year, I met a number of SQLServerCentral community members for the first time. I had the chance to shake a hand, chat with them, share a cup of coffee, or even a meal. I have made it a point the last few years to sit down with a variety of people that I have never met, especially those that I know from the SQLServerCentral forums, twitter, etc., and spend a few minutes with them.
It's amazing to me what a vibrant community we have, and how often we have people out there that donate their time and efforts to help others and share their knowledge. There seem to be no shortage of speakers at events like SQL Saturday, where some are often turned away just because there isn't enough space to accommodate every speaker. I know that I've attended 4 or 5 events every year, and I'm always surprised by how many people donate their time to help others.
Between the Code Camps and SQL Saturdays, there are hundreds of professionals, perhaps thousands, in the community, that spend non-working hours out there helping many of you that are trying to further your careers and learn new skills. It's wonderful, and I'm proud to be a part of an industry that so freely and regularly helps others.
For those of you that are providing content, or even answering questions online, take a bow. Your work is very much appreciated, and you ought to be proud of your efforts.
