So we had an interesting debate on college degrees and how much weight to give them in an interview recently. Near the end someone mentioned they were curious what types of degrees people had as well as those the worked with.
There were some interesting comments, and I decided that this might make a nice Friday poll. So...
What type of degree(s) do you have? Or what degree would you want?
My experience has been that people rarely continue on in their degree field, often moving into some other line of work after college. So I am curious (as are many others), what field of study you pursued and the degrees, undergraduate and graduate, that you received.
A college degree isn't everything, so I'm not looking to leave anyone out. If you went into the military or some trade, and want to share, let us know what type of training you've had. If you could go back to college, what would you study?
I'll repost my answer here: I have a BA in Economics, which included 2 years of CS and 2 post-grad years of Computer Engineering. I personally liked Matt's attempt at a degree in "Brewery Science", though I'm not sure I've earned enough credits for that one.
I did get a couple interesting degrees in life. One from the school of You Can Do Better University where I spent a summer digging ditches for water and sewer pipes. I had an PhMartini from the College of Late Nights and Early Sunrises where I spent 3 years tending bar, managing a nightclub, and wearing sunglasses while driving home 🙂

Someone called me the "Voice of the DBA" awhile back and I liked it. So that's what I've named the show..
I've done video the last few days, but it's a big time consuming process and it's gotten me a bit behind on other things. I will probably drop to three times a week unless there's a lot of interest to keep going everyday. If you like it, tell the boss!
