SQLSaturday #39 in NYC - Countdown - Event Preview!

,

Happy Monday, everyone!  The internet is a buzz! I have never seen so much energy and enthusiasm as SQLSaturdays, and other R2 events are sweeping the nation!  For those of you who are, or will be in the Big Apple this upcoming Saturday, April 24, 2010, and have already registered, it is sure to be a Spectacular Super SQL Saturday in NYC's Microsoft's HQ.  Since I will be there, and look forward to meeting with all of you, I wanted to share some info to help you navigate your way through the day.

This is a FREE training event for SQL Server DBAs, ETL developers, and BI professionals. There will be 24 sessions with high-quality technical content presented by top notch speakers from around the country. This is a great opportunity to interact with other Database professionals in the NYC Metro area.

First, let's all thank Melissa Demsak, aka SQLDiva, and her band of volunteers for making this exciting event happen!  It's been a rough road, and there's so much coordination, planning, scheduling, and details that goes into something like this - especially in a big venue like NYC!  Over 450 registrants, and expected 350-400 folks, the logistics are astounding.  We're almost there, and its sure to be an excellent adventure in learning, and networking!  Great job, Melissa!  Definitely, find her there and give her a big hug - ok, just kidding - say hello and thank you!

OK, as you know, there are going to be several sponsors there - some of your favorite vendors and products!  Redgate, Idera, Quest, Pragmatic Works, SetFocus and more!  Oh, I'll be representing my company Pearl Knowledge Solutions and SQLCentric!  And, they're giving their products away!  That's right, be sure to fill out all your raffles for a chance at winning some FREE licenses of your favorite products. For a full list of sponsors and their sites: http://www.sqlsaturday.com/39/sponsors.aspx  Remember to stop by ALL the sponsor exhibits, since they are the ones to make this event FREE for you!

Right now, the running updates have begun, so you can follow SQLSat #39 on twitter, using Hashtag #sqlsat39.

So, who's going to be there?  Many of your favorite MVP SQL experts and speakers!  To name a few, Andy Leonard, Thomas LeRock, Adam Jorgensen, Paul Nielson, Thomas LeBlanc, Tim Chapman, Grant Fritchey, Kevin Goff, and more!  For a schedule of events and speakers, see this link: http://www.sqlsaturday.com/39/schedule.aspx.    A downloadable schedule suitable for printing can be accessed here: http://tinyurl.com/yybp6zy

Plan accordingly, as there are many parallel tracks!  For a day filled with BI, SSAS, SSIS, and SQL 2008 R2, bring the schedule with you.  Some fantastic sessions are: Zero to Cube in 60 Minutes, SQL 2008 Reporting Services Programming, SSIS Incremental Loads, What it takes to get Certified, SQL 2008 Auditing, and much, much more!  Not to mention FREE breakfast, FREE lunch, FREE prizes, FREE SWAG, and FREE Training - what else can one ask for!

Finally, a small plug for this sponsor :-).  Pearl Knowledge Solutions, Inc., http://www.pearlknows.com , will be there representing TWO, that's right, (2) great products.  Our core award-winning monitoring & alert solution - SQLCentric, and, for the first time, we'll be exclusively representing a new exciting product called SafePeak! - www.safepeak.com.   SafePeak is an innovative new product which will improve sql server performance dramatically, and provide immediate resolution to bottlenecks.  We will be giving away free licenses to SQLCentric and SafePeak, so to learn more about both software products, be sure to stop by our exhibit table!  There you will have access to our live demos, paraphernalia, and cool SWAG!

See you all there!  - RP
