It’s an exciting time for SQL Server Professionals in the South West of the UK, we’re now just a few weeks away from the second ever SQLSaturday event in the UK which is being held in Exeter on the 8-9th March 2013.
If you haven’t registered yet why not! You can do so here. The schedule has now been released so you can see exactly who is speaking and what they will be speaking about. To view the schedule please navigate to here where you will see that I have been given a session!
It’s a real honour to be chosen, so thank you to everyone who voted. In case you haven’t seen it here’s the abstract:
Natural Born Killers, performance issues to avoid
You’ll learn simple tricks to write better code, scripts, and tables. Plus, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of common database development and administration mistakes, and how you can avoid them. Plus, you’ll learn how to take corrective action when:
•The optimizer isn’t using all available processors
•The database engine fails to report all the resources a query has used
•The optimizer uses the wrong plan
•Database tables cause memory issues
That just leaves me to thank everyone involved especially Jonathan and Annette Allen for giving up their time to bring what’s bound to be a great event to the community, we all really appreciate it. You can read a recent interview with Jonathan about being a DBA here.
Don’t forget that the Saturday is free, so register now!!!!!
