I haven’t blogged about it until now. If you weren’t aware, there’s a new conference in town. It’s SQLRally!
This is a 3-day conference that will occur in Orlando, FL. Instead of the typical unlimited number of seats that accompanies the PASS Summit, SQL Rally will be capped at 500 people.
Call for Presenters
With any conference, the call for presenters for this is currently open. They are looking for BI, DBA, Developer, and Professional Development topics. Get your topics in now and you could very well end up speaking at this new conference!
If you are unsure if you have what it takes… then think about this. You use SQL Server on a daily basis. At some time in the past year, you’ve fixed something, built something, or researched an idea. The thought and creativity that went into that is all it takes to present at a conference. What you know can, and often will, find is that this idea will fill a room of other SQL Server professionals that are interested in your ideas.
The Deadline
The call for presenters will be ending on December 15, so shake a leg and get your sessions in. Is this not a perfect reason to have to visit Florida in the spring.
If you haven’t submitted an abstract before, then check out the PASS Speaker Resource page. As a member of the Program Committee for the 2010 PASS Summit, there are a few things I’ll recommend:
- TBD for your biography won’t help you get selected.
- Demos listed in the abstract should be able to be completed in the time allotted for the session.
- Market your abstract to the attendee. Describe the situation that the session will help solve.
