Ever felt like trying your hand at writing? November is National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo for our savvy readers). But maybe writing an entire novel is just a bit too ambitious for you. So how about a chapter? That’s a heck of a lot more doable. Well, Jen McCown (@MidnightDBA | blog) is giving you an opportunity to do just that.
The project is called SQL Tribal Knowledge, and Jen’s calling for SQL Server professionals to submit chapter abstracts on the theme “the thing that a DBA should really know.” So whether it be backups/restores, designing a DR solution, security, or even topics outside SQL Server, like Powershell, what do you think every DBA should know?
Of course, there are a couple of restrictions. You must be currently working in the SQL Server field and you must be unpublished. So hop on over to Jen’s blog, read up on the details and submit an abstract. Or two. Or five. How often does a chance like this come along?
