Microsoft has released SQL Server 2008 SP1 Cumulative Update 7 (CU7). It is Build 2766. There are 31 fixes listed, many of which are for SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS. They have also released SQL Server 2008 RTM Cumulative Update 10 (CU10), which is Build 1835.
As I have said before, if you are still on the RTM branch, you should be planning on moving to the SP1 branch pretty soon, since Microsoft is going to retire the RTM branch very soon (this month if you believe this). I am pretty willing to bet that CU10 will be the last Cumulative Update for the RTM branch.
In case you are wondering, Microsoft previously announced that SQL Server 2008 SP2 is scheduled for release in Q3 of 2010. I know that some people and organizations don’t like or even allow Cumulative Updates to be deployed in Production environments, but when I look at all the issues that have been fixed since SQL Server 2008 SP1, I am glad that I have the choice of using Cumulative Updates instead of having to wait for a Service Pack. What do you think?
