Wow, what an event. I had to run to Redmond right after this so I am sorry this post is getting out late, but I had to get it out! We had such a great time! Pragmatic Works had so many of our team at this event, it felt like a day at the office!
The two user groups and Karla Landrum and team pulled together a wonderful event! Check out the crowd getting ramped up on Dunkin Donuts and coffee!
I got the great opportunity to represent my fellow Regional Mentors at the PASS table with fellow SQL community awesome-girl Bonnie Allard. Check her out working the crowd in this pic.
I did my session early in the morning and it went really well.
I was honored to have Bill Pearson and Rob Collie sit in my session and provide some great commentary for the folks who are new to Analysis Services. It?s nice to be stalked by SQL Celebrities.
After that it was mad rush to lunch and I had a job to do! I donned my apron and got in line with some of my SQL Saturday Buds and began serving the community. Literally, we were serving BBQ to the attendees.
I was hoping they would chat on their way through, but they were HUNGRY! So we had some time at the end to pose for photos and take some of the rest of the team at another table. We had four or five tables that were stacked with speakers and volunteers throwing barbecue at the attendees as fast as they could redeem their lunch tickets.
After lunch I came back to help run our booth but Tom and Rachel had it well in hand so I was off to find some sessions. I went to Kyle?s SSRS Subscriptions session since I had not seen him speak in a while and it turned out really good. The audience had a lot of questions and the interaction was great at the end.
In the afternoon I got to wipe the floor with Mike Davis in the SQL Smackdown as a guest ?smacker downer?. Mike?s co-host got sick and could not make it so I stood in for him and took my beating like a man. A girly, whiny man. The audience took pity on me and while SSIS was the stronger solution, they awarded me the Smackdown winner since I used TSQL. W00T!
Then it was prize time and then time to head on back to Jacksonville for some needed R and R. Less than 12 hours later I was flying to Redmond to visit the Microsoft mother ship. More about that later.
See you out there! Check me out on twitter at @Adam_Jorgensen.
