SQL in the City (London) is a Great Success

,

Brads-Audience

This is what my audience looked like from the stage just before I started speaking at the first of my two sessions.

This past Friday, July 15th, 2011, I attended Red Gate Software’s first SQL in the City event. This free event was held at One Wimpole Street in downtown London, and had a sellout audience. Another SQL in the City event is scheduled for Los Angeles on October 28, 2011. (Sign up early in order to guarantee your spot).

The event had both a Database Administration and a Developer track. While the event was sponsored by Red Gate Software, most of the sessions mostly focused on practical, real-world knowledge. Other sessions had a product focus for those who were interested in learning more about Red Gate products.

Speakers for the event included Steve Jones, Grant Fritchey, Buck Woody, Mladen Prajdic, Neal Hambly, Jonathan Allen, among numerous Red Gate developers. You can see the sessions listed here.

To prepare for the event Red Gate Software rented a large motor coach and drove the staff and supplies from the home office in Cambridge to downtown London. Below is an assortment of photos of the SQL in the City adventure. Hover over each photo to read the caption. Click on each photo to enlarge it (if you are at www.bradmcgehee.com).
