It is with a great pleasure that I am happy to share that today I have received news of being selected as one of the speakers for the upcoming SQLSaturday in Rheinland, Germany. This event is to be held on the 28th of June of 2014.
Organised by the German PASS Community (and more precisely by Oliver Engels, Tillmann Eitelberg & Kostja Klein), their events are definitely one of the best that I have ever attended – their attention to the details is awesome and their love to give something back to the community is legendary (this year they have celebrated 10 years of their community existence – this is a major mark, since I don’t think there are more than a dozen communities in the world that have reached this age).
As in 2013, the SQLSaturday in Rheinland shall be held at the University of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, Sankt Augustin. You might be wondering where it is – so the best explanation would probably be that it is a place between old German capital city Bonn & world famous Cologne.
Last year I was one of the privileged to be selected as a speaker and this year I am going back to Germany to speak on the Clustered Columnstore Indexes. Naturally I will be preparing some exclusive materials, so stay tuned.
By the way, on Friday 27th of June of 2014, they are organising a Big Data Hackathon, which will count with presence of some Microsoft people coming directly from Redmond so you might be interested in signing up for it.
