A couple of days ago, when I was in Germany – I have received some extremely exciting news that I was selected to present at the very first SQLSaturday in Spain – SQLSaturday #338 Barcelona 2014.
Located at the IQS (Chemical Institute) – I am glad that the exact location is somewhat away from the center of the city – this should bring a different experience of the amazing city that shall be holding TechEd in the week after SQLSaturday.
The SQLSaturday in Barcelona presents itself to be one magic event – some of the confirmed speakers are: Scott Klein, Allan Mitchel, Jen Stirrup, Regis Baccaro, Enrique Catala, Miguel Egea, Peter Myers, Sergey Olontsev, Ruben Pertusa, Eladio Rincon, Salvador Ramos – this list looks truly like a luxury lineup.
Spain is the only terrestrial neighbour of Portugal and so for a number of years I was disappointed to see that the local SQL Server community was not very active and while almost every other country in Europe were enjoying SQLSaturdays – Spain has stayed a little apart. For a country with such a high number of professionals it was a great miss.
Luckily my friend Rubén Pertusa and his team finally managed to overcome the blockers and we are just weeks away from the first SQLSaturday in Spain – ¡Enhorabuena, amigos!
