We have another great 1-DAY training workshop coming to New York City at MS NYC HQ 11 Times Square on August 27, 2015! It's not SQLinTheCity, but Red Gate Software will be in town with SQL MVP Ike Ellis (b|t) who will be hosting a Database Source Control Training Workshop 9AM-5PM for just $100! Register to attend the workshop ASAP,
here! If you want to learn all about Database Version Control, and Database Lifecycle Management (DLM) - essential functions in managing and deploying SQL Server, then this workshop is for you!
Steve Jones, announced here, voice of the DBA, editor-at-large for SQLServerCentral.com (and tech editor of that great book HealthySQL ;-), will also be on hand, to help out with the workshop, so you can definitely feel free to say hi to Steve, if you are attending this excellent training. Here is some detailed info:
DLM Training workshop - Database Source Control
Come to this workshop and take the first step in improving your database development process with DLM. You'll learn how to Source control your database, deploy your databases from source control, and see how to monitor and track database changes across development, testing, and production environments. By the time you leave, you’ll have all the
skills you need to put your database in source control. It’s light on presentations and heavy on practical experience with over 13 hands-on exercises. You’ll learn how to:
· Source control your database – the first step in Database Lifecycle Management
· Deploy your databases from source control
· Monitor and track database changes across development, testing, and production environments alongside your application, so you can track every change during development and improve your processes.
You'll learn all sorts of necessary information about DLM, and network with SQL MVPs, and peers, at Microsoft NY Metro office. If you're NOT in the area, and can't make this one, check out other Red Gate workshops in the US & UK.
You don't need to do any preparation – all you need is a laptop. Red Gate will give you a virtual machine to work with, and Ike will take you through the process step-by-step. The workshop includes the full day of training, a workbook to take away with you, break-time refreshments and lunch, plus a Redgate goodie bag. (that's cool!) There are a limited number of places available for this workshop, and we’re expecting them to sell out fast so register now. For full details of the workshop outline visit the Redgate training page.
This all day workshop is sure to please, and that's not all, if you stick around, you will be treated to another great presentation by Ike Ellis, hosted by the NYC Metro SQL Server User's Group. No need to change venues, it will be happening in the same room, but if you intend to stay, you will need to register separately here. The user griup meeting will take place from 6pm-8pm, with Ike talking about "Choosing in the Microsoft Data Landscape". The registration link has all the topic and logistic details.
Sounds like a great day and lineup of some SQL Server learning and fun! Register today!
