We are recruiting panelists for a “Women in Technology” discussion at SQLSaturday Oregon. SQLSaturday is an all-day free training event for SQL Server professionals and those who want to learn about SQL Server. SQLSaturday Oregon will be held on October 8, 2011 at the PCC CLIMB Center, across from OMSI in Portland. (More details about SQLSaturday at: http://sqlsaturday.com/92/eventhome.aspx.)

Ideally, Panelists will be active in the IT field –as an Educator, Manager or IT C-Level Executive. We would like the discussion to center around recruiting and retaining women in technology, with an emphasis on the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. We hope that attendees will leave this lunch-time discussion better prepared to help their daughters and grand-daughters know that it is ok to be a both beautiful cheer leader and a smart scientist.

Panelist should be prepared to share a bit about themselves, how they were encouraged to pursue career in technology, and the value of STEM education.
