I’m excited to be presenting at PASS Summit 2023, not only because it is PASS Summit but because of the topic. I do a lot of reading on productivity. Please don’t ask me how many books I own or blogs and newsletters I am subscribed to. But if you need a planner to help you with goals please check out the Full Focus Planner by Michael Hyatt but that is off-topic.
This year I will be presenting “Perf Tune Your Life with Atomic Habits“, yes I had the title changed from the boring title of “Using Atomic Habits to Achieve Your Goals” because we are going to have some fun and make this database themed. Here is the abstract.
“In the database of life, we often get fixated on the end result, forgetting the SQL syntax that gets us there. We obsess over the desired output (goals) but overlook the input and transactions (habits) required for success. This session, inspired by ‘Atomic Habits’ and sprinkled with some database humor, will explore how to optimize our path to success by treating daily habits like well-indexed systems. Join us as we refactor our life’s code, turning daily habits into our own personal stored procedures for success. Expect a healthy dose of SQL puns and an exciting journey from SELECTing goals to INSERTing effective habits.”
Sounds fun right?
This is going to be fun so far this is my outline but there is no telling how I will change it before November. I hope people will get something out of it and be entertained by all the puns at the same time.
- Introduction: Defining the Database of Life
- SELECTing Goals: Importance of Defining Success
- Transaction Management: Understanding the Role of Habits
- INSERTing Habits: Building Successful Queries in Life
- Indexing for Optimization: Streamlining our Habits
- Stored Procedures: Automating Success
- Handling Errors and Rollbacks: Learning from Failure
- Backup and Recovery: Maintaining Habit Sustainability
- Conclusion: Committing the Transaction
I mean how could you not come after reading that outline and abstract? So go register today! Early bird registration ends today, July 26.
