As expected, new announcements from Microsoft at the opening keynote. Before Microsoft came on stage, however, Steve Jones shared some amazing numbers. Some 45% of attendees are here for the first time. Amazing and encouraging.
I attended a few sessions and spent time visiting with old friends and talking to a couple of vendors about some of the issues I’m working on to see if their solutions can help. Allan Hirt is a mind reader with his presentation on patching, upgrades, and tech debt. But he has seen it all in his customers. If you have a chance to watch the video and you support SQL Servers or OSes, it’ll be worth it.
A common theme in the PASS Summits I’ve attended is community and that’s definitely true this year. It’s one of the reasons I have loved coming when I can. If you’ve never been to the PASS Summit, seriously consider it.
