Eleven candidates for the nomcom this year, details at http://www.sqlpass.org/Elections.aspx. The NomCom campaign will open on June 2 and close on June 6, 2014. Balloting will open on June 3 and close on June 6, 2014. Which does make it a little strange – the names are public, but no “campaigning” until June 2. I’m excited to see eleven candidates – that’s just terrific! Having a community selected NomCom is incredibly important to having a good election because it assures the members that there can be change. With 11 candidates there is real choice, much better than when there are 3 and it’s a no-election election.
