I have wanted to go to PASS Summit for the last several years, but have yet to get an opportunity to attend. This year, I “reaaalllllllyyyyyy” want to attend now that the Pre-Cons and Spotlight sessions have been revealed to the public. PASS announced the Pre-Conference seminars and Spotlight sessions and let me tell you first hand of the all-star talent released so far! Community leaders such as Brian Knight, Grant Fritchey, Brent Ozar, Stacia Misner, Aaron Nelson and Adam Machanic (to name a few) are providing full day sessions on October 11th and 12th. If you have done any searching on BING or GOOGLE, you have sure come across many (if not all) of these names in your results over the years.
The lineup for the spotlight sessions is equally superb! With tracks ranging from Application and Database Development, BI Architecture, Dev & Admin Topics, BI Client Reporting and Delivery Topics and Enterprise Database Admin & Deployment, you are sure to find something that you can take back to work and wow your boss with! Just to name a few speakers for spotlight sessions they have Itzik Ben-Gan (which I’ve heard by some that he goes so deep it makes your brain hurt); Joy Mundy from the Kimball Group; Adam Jorgensen at Pragmatic Works and Paul Turley bringing sexy back to Reporting Services. There really are so many top notch speakers here, so be sure to check them out and get approval to attend before the price jumps up at the end of June.
If you’re a geek like me, your mind might be racing with anticipation for October. This year, I have to make it there one way or another. I submitted my very first session to PASS and hopefully it will be approved. So, if you’re there, please be sure to look for the SQLBIGeek. J
