Week five and it seems like time is going by faster than I had expected it would. As I mentioned in the first post, I’ve already failed this exam once and am not really up for failing again.
This week our MCM study group has decided to read the following items and discuss them at our Sunday study group:
- Securing SQL Server
- Setting Up Windows Service Accounts
- Security Considerations for a SQL Server Installation
- SQL Server 2005 Security Best Practices – Operational and Administrative Tasks
Also, this week I am planning to get my first slew of flash cards created. The end goal will be to have flash cards for security, hardware, wait types, and performance counters. The secondary goal will be to have a sore hand from all this writing. Somehow I don’t think that will be a problem.
Below will be all of the things of interest that I do while studying. Feel free to steal the ideas since that’s why they are there. Hopefully this will also provide some background on the depth of knowledge needed to complete this certification.

Watched XML #MCMPrep video - http://is.gd/kxmdS. Good stuff, some future blog inspirations in there.
