Last week Jonathan Kehayias (Blog|Twitter) used his blog to publicly call out Thomas LaRock (Blog|Twitter). I am not going to rehash the whole episode here. It is safe to say that while Jonathan made points he felt were correct he went about it the wrong way.
Tonight Jonathan published an apology and that is what I want to focus on. Many people would have apologized quietly and laid low until the whole thing blew over, but instead Jonathan apologized with the same force via the same medium.
As much as I am glad that I did not write the post that started this whole thing I wish I had the courage to write the apology that Jonathan wrote. I hope that the way he handled this can serve as an example to the rest of the SQL Community on how to handle similar situations in the future. Will Thomas LaRock forgive him? It sounds like he already has and that should serve as an example too.
Way to go, guys. I am glad to know you.
The SQL Community is just awesome.
