JAX Code Camp 2011

,

For the past 7 years, Bayer White and other Jacksonville .Net leaders have put on great Code Camps for .Net Coders. It’s that time of year again and next weekend (Saturday August 27th, 2011) is going to be jammed pack with content to get you to the next level or just a refresher on some of those items you may not work on very frequently. Either way, this is a great event containing 25 experienced speakers covering 32 sessions across 7 tracks for (at the current moment) 302 attendees. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your space if you want to get some great free training. Yes! That’s right! I did say FREE. The only thing you need to do is register and come to University of North Florida NEXT Saturday morning ready to absorb as much as you can.

Business Intelligence is one of the tracks that will be offered for those interested in making the leap into the SMOKING HOT BI career field or those who just want to become more educated on some of the topics in the BI realm. And on that note, Pragmatic Works has four members of the team speaking and giving back to the community. The speakers on the roster from Pragmatic Works are:

  • Brian Knight
  • Mike Davis
  • Sherri McDonald
  • And of course ME - Brian K. McDonald

Sherri and I will be giving a talk titled Reporting Services from A to Z. The session details are below, but you can get more information and sign up HERE!!!!

SQL Server Reporting Services is a fundamental part of Microsoft’s Business Intelligence suite of products which as its name suggests provides a centralized robust reporting solution for organizations. Using a familiar development environment (Visual Studio), we can create static and interactive reports that can be delivered to consumers in a variety of ways. Co-presenting with Brian will be Sherri McDonald and during this level 100-200 session, they will cover topics like:

  • What is reporting services and what can it be used for?
  • New Features included in 2008 R2
  • Architectural Overview
  • Demonstrations to cover the entire process of developing, deploying and rendering reports using the built in Report Manager and URL Access.

At the end of this session, one should be familiar with using SQL Server Reporting Services and have an overview of the steps required to build and deploy reports in their own environment.

** This session is SQL Saturday favorite and is always packed full. Don't miss it **

We hope to see you there! And if you don’t already, please be sure to follow me on twitter at @briankmcdonald. Also note that you can subscribe to an RSS feed of my blogs or find me using any of the below methods.
