Jacksonville SQLSaturday less than a month away!

,

The SQLSaturday in Jacksonville, Florida, will be held May 3, 2008. I'm on track now to give two security based presentations:

  • Protecting Your SQL Server From Treasure Seekers: This presentation is geared for system administrators, DBAs, and developers and covers the "low-hanging fruit" of keeping SQL Server and the data inside of it safe. As a result, it's a beginner level presentation. If you are being asked to cover the security for SQL Server or you're being asked to go into one of the areas (like a DBA taking on more system administration functions or a developer taking on more DBA responsibilities), this will likely have something for you.
  • Trigger Happy Database Security: This presentation is an intermediate level presentation which takes a look at the use of triggers to assist in securing SQL Server. Both best and worst practices will be considered. I'll pay close attention to DDL and Logon Triggers and how they can be used in SQL Server 2005 (I'm trying to work in SQL Server 2008 as well).

There are 38 different sessions from 26 different speakers, so there's definitely something for everybody. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and meeting other professionals. It should be a blast! If you want to see the schedule, here it is:
