This will be my first ever TechEd and I'm looking forward to it. I was able to go to the PASS Summit in Orlando a couple of years ago thanks to SQLServerCentral.com and I've been to Black Hat in Las Vegas, so I know the next few days will be information overload. These conferences are a far cry from when I helped with the Air Force Information Technology Conference, one year as the conference co-chair (we got then Secretary of the Air Force Sheila Widnall
to address the conference attendees and several bases around the globe
via video-teleconference), which, when I was still there, had a maximum
of about 5,000 attendees. That's a drop in the bucket compared to
TechEd.
The trip up here was eventful... and not in a good way. We sat in the
plane on the ground in Charlotte for over an hour due to an afternoon
storm with lightning. All told it meant getting checked into our hotel
room late. But the hotel has free high speed wireless, there was a
great restauarant right across the street that does delivery. The fish
and chips hit the spot and there's still a bunch left over. I'm all set
and ready to go for tomorrow. Just need to get registered and start
sucking in the knowledge. If you're at TechEd and want to meet up, let
me know. I saw James Luetkehoelter posted that he'll be in the technical learning center, as will Brian Knight.
