I started to add a daily coping tip to the SQLServerCentral newsletter and to the Community Circle, which is helping me deal with the issues in the world. I’m adding my responses for each day here. All my coping tips are under this tag.
Today’s tip is to ask other people about things they’ve enjoyed recently.
It seems like I’m stuck in a loop of the same thing every week. I to get to see some people with coaching and volleyball, but it’s just a few people, and things repeat.
Recently I went with a friend skiing for a day. We’ve both been working from home, with fairly minimal contact outside of family. So we decided to drive up together and enjoy a day together.
The drive was good, but I really enjoyed our chats, about life, kids, etc. Hearing how they’ve coped with some of the pandemic changes and what they’re doing was good and gave me perspective on how to better cope myself, as well as appreciate the things going well for me.
