Hey there gang. I, like many of you, am very excited about the new betas for the 2010 product stack coming out. However these all require a 64bit OS and that can be difficult to do without the right hardware and software configuration. I tried for several hours to get MS virtual PC to work with the new versions of Windows Server 2008 x64 to no avail and then I found this :
That's right folks, VPC does not support any 64 bit OS, even if your laptop or desktop's hardware will. Your options are VMWare Workstations, HyperV if you're lucky enough to have your own powerful dev server, or a sweet little product I came across.
Full disclosure - I am not being compensated for this review and the product is free. The product runs great, performs well and has all the major features you would expect from a virtualization product. I am now using ti to run several virtual machines on my laptop for different product stacks and it's working splendidly. Check them out. !
