There have been quite a few new SQL Server builds and patches released in the last month and it has definitely gotten confusing.
I made this quick press release because on Friday Bob Ward of Microsoft put out a great blog post that details what the various builds mean and what you should do depending on where you stand with a server. I highly recommend you read this post below:

Left out of the post, however, and indeed left out of all posts I've seen is an apology for the shoddy release of the Service Pack. A simple "We're sorry" would go a long way with the SQL Server community.
