The SQLServerCentral newsletter has been very popular and one of the keys to our growth over the years. We know that many of you find the information valuable, and we thank you for subscribing.
Over the years we've changed the newsletter slightly, but overall we have tried to keep a format that many people recognize and use. One of the areas that has been popular is the "DATABASE PROS WHO NEED YOUR HELP" section where we list a number of the threads in each forum that have received posts the previous day. Over the years, this section has declined in popularity and clicks, so we have decided to make some changes.
Starting Friday, August 22, 2014, we will reduce the number of threads to around 20 a day. We will include a link to the "Active Threads" search that produces a presonalized list of threads that have received posts since your last login. Users that are interested in answer questions are welcome to use this link. We will showcase the threads with the most number of replies in the past 24 hours, which are usually the most interesting discussions, and a great place to learn about how the experts in the community solve problems.
We hope that this will also help with the SPAM problems that have plagued our forums lately. While we are working on ways to prevent these posts from appearing, this should help reduce the impact of those posts to our users.
If you have questions, or concerns, please feel free to leave a note in the discussion for this article.
We thank you for your support and hope that you will continue to subscribe to the newsletter. If you like what we do, consider forwarding the newsletter on to those who might be interested in receiving it.
