I don't know about any books but Robert Sheldon started a series on R over at Simple Talk:

He usually does a great job exploring a topic.

Another possibility is the CRAN introductory manual for the current R release. this is actually for debian, not for windows, but that doesn't make much difference especially at the introductory level. Alternatively, the project publishes the R language definition manual, the language definition for teh current main release version is at https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-release/fullrefman.pdf. A list of these and other useful manuals is provided too: https://cran.r-project.org/manuals.html
