Hi experts,
My maintenance plan keeps failing and I can't seem to find out why I receive the error msg below.
Executed as user: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. sqlmaint.exe failed. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22029). The step failed.
The maintenance plan history shows no errors at all so I suppose it succeeded meanwhile I get this msg in the Agent. I'm asking just because I have reporting scripts using the status (among other things) of Agent Jobs and this gives me false information. I don't want to log on to the server each time to check the plan history to make sure that my plan succeeded. This thing is starting to piss me off... Any help please?
Yes, I know I shall not use Maintenance plans but for now I have no choice.
THANKS.

Can you please post the message in the SQL Server Agent | Jobs | Job_name | History | Log File Viewer?
This should give you a lot more information other than "Job Failed"

George: Then lie to me and say you're kidding.

Thanks for your time.
There's no related entry in the SQL Server Agent Error Log and according to the most recent SQL Server Log the databases were backed up successfully.
The maintenance plan history shows no errors either.
Any ideas?
THANKS

There are some possible solutions here: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic128881-24-1.aspx
MS explains the error here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q288577

Thanks I've already read those. The strange thing is that it sometimes succeeds and sometimes fails. I give it up.
