    I am getting the following error when trying to assign a block of xml to an xml datatype in sql server:

    XML Validation: Text node is not allowed at this location, the type was defined with element only content or with simple content

    Can someone please clear up what exaxctly this means? Ive googled the error but found little help on the matter, and i have little exprience with xml. if its really necessary i will post the xml segment.

    Hi. Please disregard my question. the issue was due to incorrect xml syntax in the xml block. Thanks.
