Bidirectional Transactional Replication

  • We had replication configured for citrix databases with 1 publisher and 2 subscribers. Replication on one of the subscribers was found .

Can it be because Subscription expires...option was set to a prticular value ??

And Now we are trying to set up replication as per steps recommended in - http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX101739

But It does not allow data insert/update on subscriber.

Can anybody please guide me how to set up two way replication . Is there any additional step which is missing in the link , which is required to set up the two way transactional replication.

    Please advise.

    Thanks !!

  • As far as I'm aware transactional replication is one-way; in order to have two-way replication between SQL servers you need to be looking at merge replication...

The potential for conflicting transactions is there and Merge replication includes negotiation to resolve these conflicts.

    hope this helps

  • I've seen quite a few references to the notion that SQL Server 2005 does indeed support bidirectional transactional replication. In fact, it's in the Microsoft doc:

How to: Configure Nonpartitioned, Bidirectional, Transactional Replication
