if I save it a a vb file package.bas, can I , or how can I open/import this package.bas file in a DTS designer in another machine?

When I move DTS packages I save them as a Structured Strorage File(.dts). Then from the other machine that I want to open them on I right click Data Transformation Services and choose Open Package. From here I just point to the location of my .dts package and viola the package opens.

check out this article http://www.sqldts.com/default.aspx?204 and the DTSBackup 2000 app at the same site.

DTS Backup 2000 is the good tool to transfer packages.
