Please advice on learning replication.

  I am going to learn replication, but in our environment we have only one 2005 server and one 2008 server, and the book that I am learning replication is for 2005.

  My questions are : is it possible to replicate from 2005 to 2008, as well as other way around - is it possible to replicate from 2008 to 2005 version ? And what is better for learning purposes ?
