I suspect someone tried to install service pack 3 for SQL Server 2000. Then after installation, Enterprise Manager and DTS Services disappeared. How do I fix the problem?

You'll probably have to clarify exactly what disappeared, symptoms you see, etc...
Check C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\binn, look for SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC. Does it open? Otherwise start mmc.exe and try adding SQL snap-in manually.

I reinstalled SQL Server. I used mixed mode for authentication. I am able to register instances of SQL Servers on the domain. However, I can not register a local instance of SQL Server on my machine. I get a message SQL Server does not exist or access denied (denied OpenConnection). Why?
