RAID Registry key

  • Does anyone know which Registry key shows the type of RAID installed on a Windows 2000 & 2003 server?

  • for RAID registry key Check this microsoft details

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/149927/EN-US/

Windows NT stores information pertaining to disks, drive-letter assignments, and RAID sets in the registry. The information is located in the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Disk

  • I found an article similar to that one, but if you'll notice it applies to NT 4 and earlier.  When I query a 2003 machine I get the error "RegOpenKeyEx() returned error 2, 'The system cannot find the file specified.'"  Thanks.

  • From a few friends:

We do mostly Hardware Raid so I don’t believe that will show in the registry. You might want to look under HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap or HKLM\System\Currentcontrolset\mountedDevices

  • I don't see it under the first key and the second one doesn't exist.  I'll look around a bit.  Thanks.
