Merge Replication Broken after Reboot of Server

  • We have an inspection system using merge replication. This system was working properly until a reboot two weeks ago. Now a dbo can run the replication properly but if a user attempts to run the merge replication from the Desktop Synchronization Manger they get the following error messages:

7399 OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' reported an error.

2147766279 The merge process could not retrieve article information for publication 'MLeInspect'

If you try to run the Subscription from inside the Enterprise Manager (SQL 2000 SP4) you get

Error 14262: The specified @job_id (Guid) does not exist.

I have seen several posts with these errors but none that match my problems. It is tied to permissions but I don't understand how a reboot would break this application. Roughly 25 tablets were working for several months before this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Don

  • Well I finally moved off of the server that gave me the problem. New server is working properly and merge replication is back working.
