Look at this time of year in the past and you will find it really is right in line for seasonal changes. Only the financial (mortgage) sector is really taking a hammering more than usual and some vendors who had to do large product recalls due to Chinese issues.
Yes it is always up and down and I have been doing ok but forgot to move my money last month so got hit this time. Look also and you will find Last Oct-Dec will usually be rough rides as well.
The question is what is going to be the next bubble to burst and where to move your money to for safety.

I invest wisely (for a low inflation economy at least), I pay off debt
Now if the dollar would just pick up value soon so my student loans there wouldn't cost me twice of what it did in 2000 (in US $).
